DR Congo geared for another 5 years of misery, violence and looting of the country's resources

Joseph Kabila has been sworn in as president for the DRC for another 5 year-term this Teusday, December 20, 2011. This follows the highly contested presidential elections of November 28, 2011.
The ceremony was marked by the absence of a all the invited presidents, except Robert Mugabe. Even neighboring Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda presidents who congratulated Joseph Kabila for his reelection before the supreme court announce him the winner, did not show up.
In my opinion, their absence is a loud statement of their sincere opinion on the Nov. 28th election. Some of these presidents, such the South African Jacob Zuma, were actively involved in training and helping Joseph Kabila rig the elections. Mugabe is brave enough to come and face the Congolese, victims of their fraudulent activities. Others cowered and did not want to appear on the scene as active players.
We Congolese congratulate the Westerners who decided to not attend the swearing-in ceremony because the Nov 28, election lacked credibility.
But we still surmise how the international community does not take a strong stand. We understand that for some of them, it is very convenient that that incompetent J Kabila becomes the president. His presence on the head or the DRC guarantees another 5 year of illegal, therefore inexpensive, gateway to the Congolese resources.
We have been robbed, we feel very bad, but we are not giving up. We are more than determined to defend our rights. All those who plead for justice for the Congo may not get to see it the results of their fight--for they are systematically silenced by assassinations, but Congo will soon see Justice. God Bless the DRC.
